How to Make Yahoo Chat Run Smoother

Too many plug-ins may make the chat room feature in Yahoo! Messenger run slow. The plug-ins are meant to provide added functionality to Messenger, however, if you aren’t using the plug-ins they use up unnecessary resources. To get Messenger running smoother uninstall the plug-ins you don’t use.

Instructions

1. Click “Start” located in the bottom-left of the screen. Click “All Programs,” then click “Yahoo! Messenger.”

2. Click the “Add Plug-ins” button from the Yahoo! Messenger application window. The Plug-ins Manager window launches.

3. Click the “My Plug-ins” tab from the Plug-ins Manager window.

4. Click the plug-in you want to remove.

5. Click the trash icon to the right of the plug-in name to uninstall the plug-in.

6. Restart Yahoo! Messenger.
