How to Fix a Top-Load Kenmore for Vibrations

Kenmore features top-load washing machines that it manufactured years ago as well as modern top-load machines. While the modern washers include features such as digital display panels and advanced washing settings, both the older and the newer models have some things in common. All of these washers are prone to vibrating from time to time. When you level the washer, the vibration subsides. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Check under the washer to make sure it is not resting on anything, especially the washer's cords or hoses.

    • 2

Lift the front of the washer with the aid of a helper. Place a wood block under the front of the washer to elevate it. This allows you easier access to the feet at the front right and front left corners.

    • 3

Turn one or both of the leveling feet clockwise to raise the corner of the washer. Turn them counterclockwise to lower the appliance.

    • 4

Remove the wood block and gently lower the washer to the floor. Grip the top of the washer on both sides and attempt to shake it. If the washer rocks, even if only slightly, it will continue to vibrate when in use. If your Kenmore top-load washer is not yet level, repeat Step 3 until it is.
