How to Adjust the Number of Rings With magicJack
MagicJack is Voice Over Internet Protocol hardware that allows you to place calls via an Internet enabled computer. It only costs $29.95 per year to utilize the service. Because service is so inexpensive, it does not include a lot of features, such as the ability to change the default number of rings. To change ring count, you need third-party software. At the time of publication, PC Phonesoft is the only software developer that has a feature allowing you to change your magicJack rings from four to eight.

Visit the PC Phonesoft website. Click the “Download” button to download and install the Magic Features Plugin onto your computer. You have the option of downloading a free seven-day trial version of the software or paying a one time purchase fee of $19.95.

Plug your magicJack into the USB port of your computer.

Locate the icon that represents the installed Magic Features plugin. This icon should appear in your computer's system tray in the time clock area. Double-Click the Magic Features icon to launch the “Features Dashboard.”

Look in the Feature Options section of the dashboard. Click the box located beside “Double Ringing.” This places a check mark inside the box.
