How to Make a Bulleted List Around a Graphic in InDesign CS5
Whether a bulleted list in a document describes a nearby graphic, or the graphic is used to enhance the bulleted list, integrating the two requires getting the text to flow naturally around the image. Using the text wrap feature in Adobe InDesign CS5, you can create a bulleted list that wraps aesthetically around a graphic.

Create the Bulleted List

Select the “Type” tool and select the paragraphs that you want to convert to a bulleted list.

Click on the “Window” menu and select “Paragraph” to open the Paragraph panel.

Click on the flyout menu and select “Bullets and Numbers.”

Select “Bullets” from the “List Type” drop-down menu.

Select the desired bullet from the “Bullet Character” menu. Stylize the bullet and paragraph as desired.
Wrap the List Around A Graphic

Select the graphic that you want to wrap the bullet around.

Click on the “Window Menu” and select “Text Wrap.”

Click on the “Wrap around object shape” icon, which is the third icon.

Click on the “Type” drop-down menu under “Contour Options.” Select how you want the list to wrap around the graphic. “Bounding Box” wraps around the graphic’s rectangle box. “Detect Edges” wraps around the image; you can adjust the edges path using the direct selection tool and the drawing tools. “Graphic Frame” wraps around the graphic’s container frame.

Click on the “Wrap to” drop-down menu and select the side of the graphic you want the text to appear.

Select the text frame and position the text on top of the graphic as desired. The list should wrap around the graphic as specified in the “Text Wrap” panel.
