Instructions

    • 1

Replace your pillowcase with a silk one. Hair easily catches on cotton or wool pillowcases but will slide smoothly over silk and will not get rubbed harshly so stick with silk to protect tresses.

    • 2

Comb out any tangles prior to bed. For hard to get tangles use a light mist of de-tangling spray and gently pull them out. Once you’ve removed any tangles, pull your comb through hair two or three more times to smooth it and ensure all tangles have been removed.

    • 3

Gather hair about a half-inch above the crown of your head and twist it into a bun. Make the bun loose but secure it with a bobby pins so that it will hold or use a cloth hair tie. To wake up to morning waves, you can braid long hair and then twist it into a bun above the crown, too.

    • 4

Tie a silk scarf around your head, making sure it covers your hair and the bun you have made. Secure the scarf by tying the ends of it together or securing it to your head with bobby pins or a headband.

    • 5

Remove the scarf in the morning and let your hair down. Gently run your fingers through tresses and if you notice any light tangles, use your fingers to gently separate and smooth them out.
