How Do You Organize a Standard "Pokemon" Deck of 60 Cards?
The "Pokemon Trading Card Game" designed and published by Wizards of the Coast pits you against a fellow trainer in a duel to see who can be the first to earn six prize cards or eliminate your opponent's active Pokemon. Since your deck must include 60 cards, you will have to gather at least that number to construct your first Pokemon fighting force and begin battling your friends. A typical "Pokemon Trading Card Game" deck is made up of Energy, Trainer and Pokemon cards.

1
Pick what type of Pokemon Energy you want to include in your deck. Types include Water, Fire, Grass, Lightning, Fighting and Psychic. What type you choose determines what Pokemon you will be able to include, as each Pokemon is assigned a single type. Pikachu, for instance, is Lightning Type, while Diglet is Fighting Type.
-
2
Put 30 Energy cards of the type you have chosen in your deck.
-
-
3
Place between five and 10 Pokemon Trainer cards in your deck. These cards allow you to heal your Pokemon, draw extra cards during play and use other special abilities.
-
4
Select about 20 Pokemon cards and add these to your deck. These Pokemon must share the same type as the Energy Cards you have selected. Balance your Pokemon stable between Basic Pokemon and Levels One and Two Evolved Pokemon.
