Book of Love
-
1
Write down your love story. Whether you are using your own story or a famous tale of love, write the story down in your own words. This will help you organize the sequence of events before you commit them to paper with your quill.
-
2
Fill a pot with 4 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Add five black tea teabags to the water and let them brew for 10 minutes.
-
-
3
Place a clean sheet of white paper in the tea and let it sit for 10 seconds. Use a pair of tongs to remove the paper from the tea slowly, this will prevent tearing.
-
4
Lay the paper in a sunny spot to dry.
-
5
Write your love story on the faux-aged paper. Cover one-third of the quill's tip with ink when you dip it in the ink jar. Practice with the quill on a piece of scrap paper before beginning your love story on the aged paper. This will give you an idea of how much pressure you will need for the style of text you want. If you don't have a quill available, use an ink pen.
-
6
Number the pages of your book. Place the page numbers in the bottom center; this makes them visible on a quick reference, but not distracting.
-
7
Set each page of writing aside for the ink to dry. This will prevent smearing when you stack the pages on top of each other.
-
8
Stack the pages according to their page number.
-
9
Lay the ribbon vertically across the stack of pages. While holding both sides of the ribbon, flip the stack over as if you were tying a string around a package. Bring the two sides of the ribbon toward each other. Loop one side underneath the other, then bring the sides into the horizontal plane. This will put the ribbon in a cross shape on the back of the stack. While holding the two sides of ribbon horizontally, flip the stack back over and tie a bow in the center of the front page.
Love Collage
-
10
Collect photos, magazine images and words that represent your and your partner's love. Arrange these into a collage on a table top; this gives you a chance to experiment with different arrangements before gluing the images onto cardboard.
-
11
Remove the cardboard back of a picture frame.
-
12
Flip the cardboard back over so the inside faces you and lay it on a table or other flat surface.
-
13
Place glue on the back of the images and arrange them on the cardboard. Use as little glue as possible to prevent the images from wrinkling. For example, apply dots of glue to the corners of rectangular photo, or only apply glue to the edges of an image. Place the large images first and use the small images to build the collage around them.
-
14
Let the collage dry completely, then place it back inside the frame.
