How to Make a QR Code for an Event
Quick response, or QR, codes bridge the gap between online and offline media by using a bar code to store URLs, email addresses and contact cards. A QR code holds a link to a website or email address. When a person scans the QR code with her smartphone camera, she is taken to the URL stored in the code. QR codes work well for events with the ability to use QR codes in conjunction with name badges, posters and print advertisements. QR code creation begins with a QR generator. Many websites are available that create QR codes for free.

3
Enter the URL or information that you want to be stored inside the QR code. Most QR codes point to websites, but this is not a mandatory option. QR codes store up to 7,000 numeric characters or approximately 4,300 alphanumeric characters.

4
Choose any customization options that you want, including adding a graphic such as your logo. Color and text are also options for customizing the QR code to fit your needs. A QR code scans with up to 30 percent of the code missing.

Click the "Generate" button or "Create Code" button to create your QR code. A code is generated with your information stored inside it. Scan the QR code with your smartphone to make sure that it correctly scans. This is important before printing so you know your code works.

Save the code to your computer. After the code is created, you can print it on any media you want for your event.
