1
Make a pattern. Look at a picture of a hydrangea and use it to sketch out an outline on a piece of cardboard.
-
2
Cut out the cardboard hydrangea. Use box cutters or scissors, and cut along the lines you drew.
-
-
3
Trace the hydrangea onto felt pieces. Using whatever color you like, lay the cardboard pattern on the wrong side of the felt, and trace around them with a pencil or fabric marker. Make sure the color won't bleed through the fabric and show up on the right side of the felt.
-
4
Cut out the felt hydrangeas. Use a sharp pair of fabric scissors and cut on the lines of your hydrangeas.
-
5
Affix a bead to the center of each hydrangea with hot glue. Use pearl beads or beads in colors that match the felt hydrangeas. Use one large bead or several smaller ones. Allow them to dry completely before finishing the headband.
-
6
Attach the felt hydrangeas to the headband. Use a cloth or plastic one, depending on your preference. Using hot glue, attach each hydrangea where you want it. Spread them out from ear to ear or group them together just off-center on the top of the headband. If you are grouping them, sew them together with thread, and glue the whole group on at one time. Let the glue dry completely before wearing the headband.

Tips & Warnings
Felt hydrangea headbands are a great accessory for weddings, prom or tea parties.
Prepare all the materials and allow young girls to put together the headbands at a birthday party or sleepover.
If you only play to wear the headband once, hot glue fresh hydrangeas on, which will last for a couple of hours.
If you don't want to create felt hydrangeas, buy some fake ones at a craft store and glue them on the headband.
Use caution when working with a hot glue gun because it does pose a burn risk if not operated properly. Refer to the product directions for instructions for your hot glue gun.
