Turn the handle on the front of the tank to open it up. Each tank will open differently depending on what type it is. Turn the handle counter-clockwise and pull open the door.

    • 2

Rinse out the inside of the tank with a sprayer, working from the outside in. Turn on a hose to full pressure and place your thumb on top of the hose to get a better spray.

    • 3

Move the hose back and forth along the floor of the tank and then work along the walls toward the back of the tank. Continue in the same manner until you have cleaned off all of the dirt that will come off.

    • 4

Fill up a bucket with dish soap and warm water. Dip a sponge into the bucket and begin scrubbing down the interior of the tank with the sponge. Dip it back in the water as necessary and work around the entire inside of the tank.

    • 5

Dry off the interior with a clean rag. Wipe the rag in a circular motion over the inside of the tank and inspect the area to verify it has been cleaned out properly. Wipe it down until the inside is dry to the touch and shut the door.
