How to Install a Kenmore Water Purifier Refrigerator

Many models of Kenmore refrigerators feature water and ice dispensers. Owners often may choose to dispense crushed or cubed ice. Regardless of the type of ice that the owner dispenses, Kenmore refrigerators feature a water filtration system. Installing the water purifying filter in your refrigerator does not require a significant amount of expertise or experience. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Pull out on the base grille at the bottom of the refrigerator to remove it. The water filter is located here. Some models feature a cap that slightly protrudes from the grille. If so, do not remove the whole grille, but instead twist the cap counterclockwise to remove it.

    • 2

Rotate the cartridge counterclockwise to loosen it. Pull it straight out when it becomes loose. There may be a small amount of spillage due to water inside the filter.

    • 3

Take the new filter cartridge from its package and remove any protective covering from it.

    • 4

Push the new filter straight into the hole from which you removed the other filter. Press firmly until the filter stops.

    • 5

Rotate the filter clockwise until it clicks. Then place the grille back in its place at the bottom of the refrigerator or twist the cap clockwise to replace it.
