How to Keep a Baptism Dress White
For many Christian families, a baby's baptism is a sacred, important moment in their child's life. Some families choose to keep the baby's baptism dress as a keepsake or family heirloom that can be passed down from generation to generation. However, without proper storage, the white baptism dress will start to turn yellow over time. With the proper care and storage immediately after the baptism is over, you will be able to preserve and keep your baby's baptism dress white and pristine for years to come. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wash the baptism gown according to the directions on the clothing care tab. This ensures that all body oil is removed, which can cause discoloring. Use a gentle or mild detergent.
-
2
Store the baptism dress in a breathable garment bag or box. This will allow air to flow through the dress, keeping it from turning yellow. You can use an acid-free paper box or a 100 percent cotton garment bag to store the baptism dress in. Use a bag with a plastic or rubber-coated zipper only, as metal will corrode and can damage the dress.

3
Store the baptism dress in a cool, dark area, such as the back of a closet. Choose an area of the home where the temperature does not tend to fluctuate too much. Avoid attics and basements because of the high temperatures and dampness, respectively.

Check the baptism dress every couple of years to make sure it is still in good shape.
