Making your own frozen yogurt is one way to have a low-cost, healthy treat on hand. It also gives you the opportunity to create your own favorite flavored blends. But storing and freezing homemade frozen yogurt is an important factor for keeping it fresh to enjoy at a later date. If you have used an ice cream maker, transfer the frozen yogurt from the ice cream maker to a plastic storage container suitable for the freezer. Alternatively, leave the frozen yogurt in the container you made it in, so long as the container is full. Otherwise, transfer the frozen yogurt to a smaller freezer storage container.

Use a freezer storage container that is airtight. Fill the container with yogurt, making certain that there is no extra room left at the top of the container. Seal the container shut tightly.

Place the homemade yogurt in the freezer for up to seven days. Once you have less than half of the yogurt left, transfer the remaining frozen yogurt to a smaller container for maximum freshness.
