How to Disable Buzzers on Maytag Dryers thumbnail
The buzzer helps you keep track of your laundry.

At the end of each drying cycle, when either the time runs out or the moisture sensors detect the clothes are dry, the buzzer on your Maytag dryer sounds to reduce the amount of time clothes spend tangled at the bottom of the drum. Wrinkles often set in while clothes are waiting to be collected. If you want to disable the buzzer, the exact procedure depends on your model. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the "End of Cycle Signal" dial on the control panel and turn it to the "Off" position. The buzzers of some Maytag dryers, including the "Peforma" series, are controlled using a simple dial among the other controls. Move the dial to the "Off" position before you start drying to keep the appliance silent later on.

Find the "End Signal" or "Cycle Signal" button among the cycle option buttons and tap it to scroll through "High," "Low" and "Off" modes. The dryer will not alert you to the end of a cycle when it is switched off, making the overall operation of the appliance quieter.

Press the "Chime" button on the controls to toggle the buzzer on and off. A light above the button indicates whether the buzzer is switched on or off. Unlike some models, the "Chime" button has only two settings: on and off. You cannot raise or lower the volume.
