How to Change Someone Else's Status in iChat

iChat allows you to inform your buddies of your current activities through the Status feature. The status then appears next to your name for all of your buddies to see. If you want to change someone else's status account you must sign into their iChat account with their username and password.

Instructions

1. Launch iChat by double-clicking the icon from the Dock at the bottom of your screen.

2. Click “iChat” from the top menu of iChat, click “Preferences” and click “Accounts.

3. Click the plus sign to add a new account.

4. Type the user name and password of the person you wish to change the status of.

5. Click “Done.” The other person’s iChat account launches.

6. Click “Status” from the top of the Buddy List window.

7. Type the desired status message in the status box and press “Enter.”
