How to Loop GIF Images in Swish Max

Swish Max is an application that enables the user to make Flash (SWF) formatted video files. In addition, Swish Max will import and open animated GIFs. Once imported, the user is able to save the animated GIF presentation as a Flash video file. When importing the animated GIF file into Swish Max the option to loop the animation is provided in the Importing Frames dialog box. Simply select the Loop option when opening the animated GIF in Swish Max. Make sure the Loop option is selected when you save your file changes in Swish Max.

      Open the Swish Max program.

      Click the “Insert” drop-down box in the left pane, then click “Image” from the list. A File Open dialog box launches.

      Navigate to and click on the saved animated GIF file to import and loop. Click “Open.” An Importing Frames dialog box opens.

      Click the “Select All Frames” button to select all frames in the animated GIF to import to Swish Max. All files listed in the dialog box are highlighted.

      Click the “Import” button. The first frame of the GIF file shows in the workspace area.

      Check the checkbox labeled “Loop” in the right pane to loop the animated GIF in the Swish Max interface.

      Click the “File” option and click “Save As.” Click the “File Type” drop-down list and click the “Flash SWF (*.swf)” option to save the file as a Flash file, then click “Save.”
