How to Block Spam Emails From Gmail on Android

Your Gmail account will filter your incoming emails for spam before delivering them to your Android device, but if you receive a lot of spam, some may leak through. If you receive spam emails, the Android Gmail client allows you to block and report the spam messages.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the application screen on your Android device and touch "Gmail." Some devices have a shortcut to the Gmail client on one of the home screens.

    • 2

Open the inbox and check the box next to the spam message. If you have multiple spam messages, you can check them all individually.

    • 3

Press the "Menu" key and tap "Report spam." The Android will move the message thread to the Spam folder and all future messages will be delivered to Spam.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also report a message as spam while viewing the message. Press "Menu" and tap "More," then touch "Report spam."
