Wash your hair and blow dry as normal. Separate your hair into sections and flat iron until smooth and straight.

Pull hair back into a ponytail at the center of your head and secure with an elastic or clear band.

Pull the band back from your pony tail and push your hair through the top, so that you have about 2 inches of your hair sticking up with the rest folded into a small bun.

Fan the hair out from the elastic band by pulling the strands away from one another.

Dab some hair wax onto your fingers. Cover the tips of your fingers lightly with the wax.

Tease the tips of your hair with the hair wax to the side and up to get the ends to spike outward. Experiment with teasing strands over the bun to hide or sticking straight up for an alternative look.
