Instructions

    • 1

Scrape noodles, chicken pieces, vegetables and other solid bits off the upholstery into the bowl with a butter knife, spatula or the side of your hand. Discard these large pieces in the garbage.

    • 2

Blot up excess liquid with a clean rag or paper towels, working from the outside of the spill inward to the center.

    • 3

Dab the stain with a fresh rag dampened with clean water to dilute the broth. Blot up the excess liquid with clean rags or paper towels. Do not over saturate the stain with water. The extra water will cause the stain to spread.

    • 4

Dab on cleaning solution with a clean rag. Dry cleaning solvent or a mixture of 1 teaspoon of mild detergent in 1 cup of water are effective against fat-based stains like chicken broth. Continue dabbing on solution until the whole stain is covered lightly. Do not rub the solution into the upholstery.

    • 5

Rinse the cleaning solution from the stain by dabbing the stain with a fresh rag dampened with clean water. Blot up the excess liquid with clean rags or paper towels. Continue dabbing with clean water and blotting until the upholstery is free of chicken soup and cleaning solution. Let dry.

    • 6

Repeat dabbing the area with cleaning solution and dabbing and blotting with clean water to rinse if the stain is especially stubborn.

Tips & Warnings

  • Both solutions are generally safe on most upholstery; however, always do a test on a hidden patch of upholstery before applying to the whole stain.
