How to Install Shipping Bolts in a GE Washer

General Electric top-load washing machines are susceptible to movement and vibration damage in transit. To keep the tub and drive platform secure, GE attaches a 19- or 23-inch shipping bolt through the side of the appliance. This bolt, known as the shipping rod, is removed during installation and should be kept in a safe place in case the washer needs to be moved to a new location. The shipping rod is simple to push back into place without special tools. Does this Spark an idea?
