Sometimes the cause of a broken slot machine wheel is simply a jammed coin.

The type of repair done to correct a broken slot machine wheel depends on the type of machine you have. Older fruit machines may have mechanically driven wheels, while newer ones are rotated by motors. You can learn how to fix a stepper-motor driven slot machine.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the electricity outlet that your slot machine is plugged into for improper power supply or connection.

    • 2

If the power and connection are operating properly, disconnect your slot machine from the source of electricity.

    • 3

Use a screwdriver to remove the back panel and access the inner parts.

    • 4

Check inner power cord connections, to make sure electricity is being supplied to the stepper-motor that rolls the wheel.

    • 5

Check the slot machine power battery. This battery supplies energy to the logic board, which controls and drives the stop-motor of the newer electric fruit machines.

    • 6

      Replace the battery if necessary.

    • 7

Examine the entire wheel for any areas in which it may have gotten off track. If so, set the wheel back onto the track.

    • 8

Examine each reel of the wheel. Check the connectors on each reel to see if they have become dislodged. If so, reconnect any loose parts.

    • 9

Lubricate the wheel and all connectors with the lubricating grease.

    • 10

Check for any jammed coins or any other particles that could be causing a blockage.

    • 11

Reattach all parts and connectors and replace the back panel.

    • 12

Plug it into the electrical outlet to test.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the power battery of the logic board goes down and is not replaced in a timely fashion, it can cause the slot machine to lose its memory and programs.
