  • Gel, wax or mousse

      Brush the hair and separate it into sections. The size of the sections depends on the size of the twists desired. If you want smaller twists, separate the hair into smaller and multiple sections. If you want larger twists, separate the hair into larger and fewer sections.

      Secure the hair you are not working on with hair clips or ties.

      Divide a section of hair into two equal parts. Apply the gel, wax or mousse to each section. Spiral each section downward around the other. Pull the finished section to the top of the head and secure with a clip to hold the twist in place. Continue around all sections of the head.

      Allow the hair to dry completely. Remove the hair elastics. You may let the hair fall in the twists naturally, or you may secure them with bobby pins.
