How to Get Long Loose Braid Crimps for Thin Hair
Making crimps in your hair is a stylish and easy way to update your look. While the thought of crimping your hair sounds simple, when you have fine hair it is a little more complicated. Typically, women can crimp their hair with a heat-induced crimping iron; however, the heat can damage fine hair and create breakage or split-ends. Consider sleeping on your hair instead. Braiding fine, wet hair will create the crimps and waves you desire and keep your locks in mint condition. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wash your hair the night before you want to create the crimps. Do not condition your hair after you shampoo it in the shower, this may cause your thin locks to fall flat. Towel dry your hair by blotting and squeezing to remove moisture.

2
Comb through your hair to remove any tangles with a wide-tooth comb. Squeeze a golf ball-size amount of styling gel into the palm of your hand and rub your hands together. Work the gel into your hair from the tips to the roots. Comb through to distribute evenly.

Separate your hair into four equal sections. To create all over crimps with fine hair, you will need to create four different braids to ensure your hair dries thoroughly and each strand crimps. Keep one section down and pin the other three sections up. Comb through the free section and braid the hair from the scalp to the tip. Secure the end of the braid with a small ponytail holder. Repeat the process of braiding each section and securing with a ponytail holder until you have four braids.

Remove the braids one-by-one in the morning. Use your fingers to pull the braids apart carefully. Do not comb through the braids with your fingers to remove them, this will only pull the hair straight.

5
Apply a plum-size amount of styling mousse to your palm and rub hands together. Scrunch your dry, crimped hair upward with the styling mousse. This will help to hold the style into your hair. Spray your hair with a medium-hold hairspray to secure the style.
