How to Fix a Snagged Thread That Pulled Through a Wool Jacket
A wool jacket is, for clothing, something of an investment, because in general, it isn't cheap; however, you know that when properly cared for, it will last years. You will need to have it dry cleaned a couple of times a year and possibly use a lint brush to remove stray hair and lint from it. To prevent wrinkles from forming on it, hang it on a hanger in a closet. Most importantly, when you notice a snagged thread, fix it immediately. It only takes a few minutes to repair. Lay the wool jacket on a flat surface and adjust a light so it shines on the damaged area.

Press a needle into the snagged thread to force it to the inner side of the jacket. This will prevent the thread from snagging further.

Apply liquid fray preventer to the thread you pushed through the wool jacket in Step 2 to stop the thread from unraveling further. Press the liquid-coated thread down, forcing it to adhere to the inside of the coat.

Tips & Warnings
If the wool jacket has a liner, back-stitch the snagged thread to prevent it from poking out. However, if you have no liner, a back stitch could become an eyesore to the jacket.
