How to Teach a Leftie How to Knit
Learning to knit for a left-handed person can be cumbersome, but southpaws can master the skills needed to knit. However, when teaching a leftie how to knit, you may need to use a special technique. Instruct the left-handed person to hold one knitting needle in each hand. Wrap the yarn under the large finger of her left hand to create to proper tension on the yarn.

Tell her to make a loop with the end of the yarn. This is done by putting the long end of the yarn that is attached to the ball over the short loose end of the yarn. Put the loop onto the right needle, then gently pull the long end of the yarn to attach the loop securely to the needle.

Instruct him to use the left needle to pull a loop through the first stitch on the right needle. This is done by inserting the needle on the first loop from front to back.
