How to Make Different Color Notifications for People Sharing Google Calendar

In addition to letting you create multiple calendars for your own events, such as work and personal events, Google Calendar also lets you subscribe to other people's calendars and share your own calendars with others. When someone share his calendar with you, his events appear on your own Google Calendar alongside your own. To avoid confusion, make others' calendars different colors than your own so you can clearly identify your own events at a glance.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to google.com and click "More" and "Calendar." Sign in to your account.

    • 2

Click the down-facing arrow that appears when you hover your mouse over the name of the person sharing her calendar with you under Other Calendars in the bottom left of the screen.

    • 3

Click the color square to assign that color to the person's calendar event notifications.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also hide others' calendars from view by clicking the square to the left of his name to toggle visibility on and off.
