1
Begin a project on AutoCad and start drawing. To start a line on the drawing, click on the "Line" tool in the toolbar at the top of the screen, then use your mouse to draw the line and position it.
-
2
Locate the Command Line at the bottom of the screen. When you type a command into the command line, it is implemented into the drawing right away.

3
Type "@" followed by the distance that you want to draw the line, followed by "<" and the angle that you want the line drawn to. For example, type "@12<45" to draw a line that is 12 units long at a 45-degree angle from the point that you are at on the drawing. Click "Enter" to put the line into the drawing.

Tips & Warnings
Once you insert a line into AutoCAD, you can move it around with your mouse. This is sometimes easier to do when you do not need a specific angle in the drawing.
