How to Measure a Website's File Size

Measuring your website's file size is an important step in increasing visitation.

One of the most important features of a website to the user is the speed at which the site loads. The size of a website directly affects the time the user waits for the site to load, which can either increase or decrease visitors to the site. For this reason, measuring the website's file size is an important step in decreasing the load time of the entire site and thus improving the visitation of the website. 

Instructions

1. Open your computer's browser and load the website you want to gauge for size. 

2. Right-click the page and select "View Source." 

3. Copy and save the "View Source" file to your computer's default Notepad application. 

4. Right-click in the Notepad file and select "Properties." Under "General" check the size of the file for the total file size of the website.
