How to Customize Hyperlinks in iWeb

While links that are blue and underlined are definitely recognizable and easy to find, blue text with an underline may not work with the style of your website. Customizing your links to fit your color scheme and page style makes your website look better overall. If you’re making a website in Apple’s iWeb, you’ve probably noticed the simplified interface has far fewer options than can be found in professional Web design software. That being said, you still have the option to customize your hyperlinks in iWeb.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open iWeb on your Mac.

    • 2

Click the page for which you want to customize hyperlinks in the column on the left.

    • 3

Click a hyperlink that you want to customize to select it. Highlight the link text.

    • 4

Click the Link Inspector tab in the Inspector window. If you don’t see the Inspector window, click “View” in the top menu bar and then click “Show Inspector.”

    • 5

      Click “Format.”

    • 6

Click the color swatch to the left of “Normal” to change the color of your hyperlink.

    • 7

Click the color swatch to the left of “Rollover” to change the rollover color of your hyperlink. This is the color that will appear when a user "touches" the link with their mouse pointer.

    • 8

Click the color swatch to the left of “Visited” to apply a new color to hyperlinks once visitors have visited them.

    • 9

Click the color swatch next to “Disabled” to apply a specific color to disabled hyperlinks.

    • 10

Click the “U” icon to turn underline on and off for normal, rollover, visited and disabled links.

    • 11

Click “Use for new links on page” to apply your customize hyperlink settings to any new links you create on that page.
