How to Make Your Vases for Your Wedding Table

Vases filled with flowers can accent a bridal table.

No wedding is complete without some flowers accenting the tables at the reception. There is no need to decorate the reception using bouquets upon bouquets that are sprawled across the tables. A simple homemade bud vase with a single flower and some greenery will suffice. If desired, these small bud vases can be placed in grouping of three in the center of tables along with some glass votive holders and candles.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the bottle using some dish soap in a tub of warm water and rinse thoroughly using cold water. Let it completely dry.

    • 2

Cut tissue paper into 2-by 2-inch squares. Select solid-colored papers that complement the overall look of your wedding or you can choose papers with designs, such as seaside or Victorian.

    • 3

Brush some decoupage glue to a small area of the glass and place a piece of paper over it. Smooth out all of the bubbles from beneath the paper. Continue this process until the entire glass surface is covered with paper.

    • 4

Cover the paper on the vase with a light coat of decoupage glue using a soft-bristled brush. Let it completely dry.

    • 5

Add the couple’s engagement photo to the vase using the decoupage glue. Accent the vase by tying a ribbon above the couple’s photo.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a glass wine bottle or soda bottle to make the vases.

  • You can also use the couple’s wedding announcement clipped from the newspaper instead of the engagement photo.
