1
Drink at least eight glasses of water a day. This is not only good for the body, but for the skin as well. It gives you moisture and keeps the skin hydrated.
-
2
Wash your face with a mild cream cleanser for dry and sensitive skin rather than soap or liquids. Look for moisturizing types to give the skin extra hydration. Avoid rubbing your face with a towel after washing. Pat it dry instead so you do not irritate the skin. Use a thick moisturizer twice a day. Apply it in the morning on a freshly washed face and at night before bed.

Exfoliate your skin at least twice a week. Make your own recipe by mixing 1 cup of sea salt with 1/2 cup of virgin olive oil and two crushed rosemary sprigs. Massage it into wet skin after washing and rinse off with warm water. This will exfoliate dead skin, give it moisture and calm any redness.

Skip on foundation. Applying makeup to the flaky areas only makes them look worse. Apply a tinted moisturizer rather than foundation until you can clear the flaky areas.
-
5
Avoid going out in the sun too much. Use a moisturizing sunscreen on both the body and face for any amount of sun exposure. Wear a hat to protect the face if you will be outside in the sun for a long period of time.
