Attach flannel to a tri-fold board for an adjustable flannel board.

Traditionally, flannel boards are made of a flat piece of cardboard or masonite board. Making a flannel board using a tri-fold board may be tricky because the presentation board has two folds going down the center. To work around the folds of the board, separately attach flannel to each panel. This will also allow the board to fold as designed.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the width and height of each panel of the board. Each panel will be defined by the two folds in the board. There will be a left, middle and right panel.

    • 2

Add 2 inches of length and 1 inch of width to the left and right sections. Only add 2 inches of length -- without adding 1 inch of width -- to the center section. Cut out flannel pieces according to measurements.

    • 3

Lay one section of cut felt onto the left panel of the board. Line it up so it's flush with the fold. Apply craft glue along the fold of the cardboard and glue the flannel to it. You will have flannel hanging over the top, bottom and side of the cardboard.

    • 4

Stretch the flannel so it lays flat and fold it over each end of the board to leave a finished edge.

    • 5

Flip the board over and pull the excess flannel over the three sides. Attach the loose flannel edges to the back of the board with craft glue.

    • 6

Lay the center piece of flannel inside the center panel and line it up so it's flush with the folds on either side. Glue these pieces down.

    • 7

Flip the board over and attach the extra pieces of flannel to the back of the board with glue.

    • 8

Follow Steps 3 to 5 for the right panel.

    • 9

Let the flannel board dry completely before using.
