Knitting a Cord for Fishing
Knit fishing cords are strong and able to hold heavy bait. Knit as a tube instead of plied, the knit cord works for any kind of fishing. The fishing cord is knit on small needles with nylon cord for durability and strength.

Cast on four stitches onto one double point needle.

Slide the stitches to the point of the left-hand needle. Pull the thread around the back of the stitches and knit the four stitches, knitting the stitches as tightly as possible.

Put the needle with the stitches back into the left hand. Slide the stitches to the point of the needle, pull the yarn taut around the back of the stitches and knit the stitches.

Repeat Step 3 until the cord is the desired length.

Tips & Warnings
Depending on the type of fishing, a different material may be required. For thicker cords, increase the needle size enough to make the thicker cord while still keeping the tension of the piece tight.
