How to Add Resources to a Gantt Chart in Excel
A Gantt chart is a variation of a stacking bar chart that displays two or more data values on a single bar. As an example, you might have a $500 "earned" value and a differently colored $1,000 "to go" value, which offers a total "goal" bar length of $1,500. The Gantt chart may house multiple stacked bars, and you can add additional data resources at any time by expanding the data range.

1
Open your spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel.
-
2
Right-click the Gantt chart and choose "Select Data."
-
-
3
Adjust the data range in the "Chart Data Range" field. As an example, if the range currently displays "=Sheet1!$A$1:$D$4", but you added another line of data in row 5, you would change the range to "=Sheet1!$A$1:$E$5" to encompass the new data resource. You can also click the right-hand range selection square and drag your mouse across the new range.
