1
Paint your walls in a tie-dye design using neon or black light paints. Glow-in-the-dark paint will work, too. Use stencils to get the tie-dye effect, and use as many hot colors as you can to recreate the look of a tie-dyed T-shirt. Bright green, hot pink, bright yellow, blue and red are good color choices. Paint large, yellow smiley faces or peace signs on your wall for a dramatic effect.

2
Replace ordinary light bulbs with black light bulbs. Replace your light switch covers with covers featuring psychedelic designs or neon colors. Hang posters of your favorite 1960s and early '70s bands on the wall. Black light posters with smiley faces and peace signs will also work.

Hang beads from the ceiling or in your doorway. Set lava lamps on your dresser and nightstand. These are all elements that can enhance the psychedelic aspect of the room. Cover your bed with tie-dyed fabrics and smiley-face pillows to finish off the theme. Place one or two brightly colored beanbag chairs in the room.
