How to Alter a Footer in iWeb

iWeb is an entry-level, web design package produced by Apple. It's included with the iWork productivity suite. iWeb is geared toward novice users, and as a result, uses a highly simplified interface with a heavy emphasis on pre-made templates and wizards. HTML web pages have three main sections -- the header, the body and footer. Editing the footer when using raw HTML code is just a matter of using the right code tags. Within iWeb, you need to specifically designate the items to be included in the footer.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch iWeb and either select your desired template from the splash screen or open a previously started site by clicking the "File" menu, then "Open." Select your chosen file from the dialog.

    • 2

Scroll down to the bottom of the page so you can see the footer. Depending on your chosen template, it may contain some sample text, or it could just be a blank frame.

    • 3

Create a text box by clicking the "A" button on the toolbar. Click inside of the box and type your desired text. It doesn't matter where on the page you place the box, as you will be moving it to the footer.

Hold down the Apple key and drag the text box into the area of the footer. The footer will automatically expand to accommodate the text box. You will now be able to "Apple-click" into the footer to edit the context.
