How to Determine the QLogic Model in VMware
When running an application or device driver in the VMware virtualization suite, it is important to know which devices you are emulating, so that you can configure them correctly. QLogic connects to, and utilizes, a host bus adapter -- or HBA. There are various HBA models that are compatible with QLogic and VMware. If you do not know which model you are using, you must use a command to determine this information.

Check the "vendor-id," the "device-id," the "subsystem-vendor-id" and the "subsys-device-id." Consult the QLogic vendor chart, to determine which model you are using. Use the last four digits of each, and compare this with the chart. For example, with a vendor-id of 1077, a device-id of 6312, a subsys-vendor-id of 1077 and a subsys-device-id of 119, the model is the QLA200.
