A messy bun is a playful variation on the classic bun which requires every strand of hair to be in perfect order. Yet the messy bun is more versatile than you may think. You can wear a messy bun for an evening out on the town and add hair jewels for instant glamour. Alternatively, you can wear the messy bun for a more informal activity such as cheerleading. Instructions

      Use a wide-tooth comb to remove tangles. Pull the hair behind your head into a high ponytail at the back of your head. Secure the ponytail with an elastic band.

      Hold the elastic-secured base of the ponytail with one hand. Grab the tail end of the ponytail with your other hand and wind it around the base of the ponytail in a clockwise motion until you form a bun. Pin the ends of the hair with bobby pins.

      Pull a small strand of hair from each side of your head and twist it from left to right to form a curl.

      Place a thin headband over the top of your head and spray your hair with hairspray to set the style.
