Use decoupage to transform an ordinary bucket.

Galvanized tubs are an interior or outdoor accessory that can be used for multiple purposes. The tubs come in many different sizes and shapes from a bucket to an oval tub. The tubs are often used in gardens for decoration or indoors as storage for toys, magazines or odd loose items. Decoupage can turn a regular galvanized tub into a matching part of the decor. Instructions

    • 1

Clean the surface of the galvanized tub with a damp cloth and dry.

    • 2

Cut the fabric or paper the shape and size you want to apply to the surface.

    • 3

Brush decoupage glue on the galvanized tub and apply the fabric or paper on the surface. Smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles with your fingers as you go. Lift up the paper or fabric to reposition it if needed while the glue is still wet.

    • 4

Apply at least one layer of decoupage glue on top of the fabric or paper. Apply two or three layers to add finish and gloss to the materials. Let each layer dry before starting a new layer of decoupage glue.

    • 5

Spray the decoupage with a transparent acrylic spray to seal and waterproof.
