Decorate your wedding tent with organza to create a soft, cascading look.

Using a wedding tent is a good choice for an outdoor wedding celebration. You can enhance the roomy and romantic feel of your wedding tent by decorating it with organza for a luxurious ambience. Organza is a shiny flowing fabric that gives a shimmery, ethereal quality to a space. Drape organza from wedding tent ceilings, and use it to cover unsightly tent support poles, transforming them into elegant wedding decorations.

Instructions

    • 1

Use a tape measure to determine the height of any supporting poles around the tent. Cut the organza fabric into wide strips with scissors, such that it covers the width of the poles. Wrap the organza around the entire length of the pole, from top to bottom. Use a glue gun to attach the organza to both ends of the pole. If a glue gun can't be used because of tent rental terms, use plastic cable ties to attach the fabric.

    • 2

Hang organza from the center of the ceiling of the tent to the corners for a dramatic cascading effect. Cut organza in lengths that measure two inches longer than the ceiling-to-corner length. The extra length will enable you to create a soothing, swaying effect.

    • 3

Attach one end of the organza fabric to the center of the ceiling with the glue gun or with cable ties. Open the fabric, such that it fans out. Extend the organza toward the corner, and secure it using a glue gun or cable ties.

Cover all the corners of the wedding tent with organza. Repeat the process of attaching strips of organza fabric to center of the ceiling, fanning it out, and securing at every corner with the glue gun. For more drama, cut swags to gather and attach at the corners that will hang down to near the floor.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cut organza into wide strips and use it as a table runner, or tie into bows around the backs of chairs.
