How to Display Your Homemade Jewelry for Showing
Whether you want to sell at a crafts fair, show off your talent at an arts show, or just want to get your finished homemade jewelry pieces out of the drawer and in a place where you and others can look at them, placing your homemade jewelry on display may seem like a daunting task, but it's not. You can easily display your jewelry like a pro.

1
Take stock of size and shape. It is best to take the shape and size of each individual piece into consideration when determining how you will display your jewelry. Some of your work will need to be hung, and other pieces may look good lying flat. Your more ornate pieces will look best when displayed alone, and some of your run-of-the mill pieces will look fine when hung next to similar items.

2
Consider color. The color of your pieces should determine the background color of your jewelry displays. For example, going with black velvet works well for some pieces, but not for your black or transparent pieces. In those cases, white works best. It never hurts to have several colors in a neutral scheme on hand; bright colors will overwhelm your jewelry, which should be the main attraction.

3
Scope out your space. The space in which you expect to show your jewelry will help you determine which type of displays you should use. If you expect to use a lot of tabletop space, stands and small racks may serve you well. If you wish to hang necklaces and bracelets in a tabletop space, candle holders and commercial jewelry holders will work well. If you have a lot of space in a gallery or outdoors, custom-made peg boards or racks may also work.

4
Highlight your work with lighting. Gemstone jewelry tends to look best in natural lighting, but too much sunlight can wash out the color of even the boldest items in an outdoor setting. A canopy can make a world of difference in that situation. When indoors, individual spotlights on key pieces can highlight your best work.

5
Keep it neat and professional. Whether you are vying for an award, looking for critical acclaim or just looking to sell a few pieces, you'll need to maintain a professional image. Wear a neutral color when you show to keep the focus on your jewelry, and keep your showing area uncluttered.
