Instructions

    • 1

Unroll sinamay ribbon. Using the scissors, cut a piece of ribbon measuring 24 inches long.
Sinamay ribbon is a type of decorative mesh that can be purchased from trim and craft supply retailers.

    • 2

Twist and wind the sinamay ribbon into a bow with multiple loops of varying sizes for added interest.

    • 3

Using the needle and thread, securely stitch the layers of sinamay ribbon together at the base of the bow. Double the thread for extra strength.

    • 4

Turn the fascinator over so the underside of the bow is facing up. Cut three pieces of feather trim into 2-inch lengths. Add a bead of hot glue to the base of each trim and affix to the underside of the bow. Point the feathers in different directions for added interest. Gluing the feather trim to the underside of the bow, rather than on the front side of the bow, will ensure that the raw edges of the feather trim are concealed.

    • 5

Turn the fascinator right side up. Glue three to five single feathers inside the twists and loops of the sinamay ribbon for added texture and drama.

    • 6

Add a dot of glue to the base of the beaded floral picks. Insert two or three picks into the layers of the feathers and ribbon. Bend the wires of the beaded floral picks to your desired shape. Floral picks are typically used in floral arrangements and can be purchased from most floral and craft supply retailers.

    • 7

Embellish the fascinator by gluing rhinestones to the tips of the feathers.

    • 8

Add a bead of hot glue to the straight edge of the hair comb and affix to the underside of the fascinator. Hold the hair comb and fascinator in place until the hot glue dries. Stitch the hair comb to the fascinator for extra strength using the needle and thread.
