How to Troubleshoot Quality on a Fujitsu Scansnap
The Fujitsu ScanSnap's Image Quality mode enables you choose how you want to scan documents. When troubleshooting, however, there's a trade off: you must decide if you want to scan as fast as possible or at a higher image quality. The Color Mode setting also helps you enhance the output of your scans. It does this by recognizing if the original document is in color or black-and-white. Improve the image quality by scanning based on your needs, keeping in mind the type of document you want to preserve.

Tips & Warnings
Scan documents that contain detailed graphics, very small print or are written in pencil at a higher image quality setting than those documents that contain only large print.
Use the B&W color mode when you scan documents that contain a majority of text. When printing, you'll save color ink without reducing image quality.
Always run a test scan before scanning large batches of a specific type of document so you'll know how it will turn out.
Be aware of the space that a larger quality scan requires. Documents scanned at Best and Excellent Image Quality settings take up more disk space than those scanned at Normal or Better. The B&W Color mode scan setting produces the smallest file size compared to Color and Auto Color Detection.
