How to Load Music Onto SanDisk From a CD

SanDisk makes a variety of external flash media storage devices and media players. If you have a SanDisk player, simply connect it to your computer and drag files from the computer to the player to copy them. However, those files must already reside on the computer. To load a SanDisk with music from a CD, use Windows Media player to rip the songs from the CD and then transfer them to the player.

Step 1

Insert your CD into the computer's CD drive.

Step 2

Click the Windows "Start" menu, "All Programs" and then "Windows Media Player." Press "Enter" to open the player.

Step 3

Press "CTRL+1" to maximize the player and click "Rip." Media Player will copy the songs from the CD and store them in the My Music folder located in the My Documents folder.

Step 4

Close Windows Media Player after it copies the files to the folder.

Step 5

Insert the SanDisk player into its docking port and connect the large end of the supplied USB cable to the docking port. Insert the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer.

Step 6

Double-click your computer icon located on the desktop. You will see an icon for the SanDisk player. Double-click the folder to view its subfolders.

Step 7

Click the Windows "Start" menu and select "My Music." This folder will contain the songs ripped from the CD.

Step 8

Hold down the "Shift" key and highlight the songs by clicking on them.

Step 9

Hold down the left mouse button and drag the highlighted songs to the Music folder located in the SanDisk folder. Windows will copy the files to the SanDisk.
