How to Hook Up a Stereo to My Hitachi UltraVision TV
You can hook up your stereo system to your Hitachi UltraVision TV to expand the audio capabilities of your TV. Although the Plasma TVs feature built-in speakers, they lack the power and capabilities of an external audio system. Use the audio out connections of the TV to export the sound to the input panel of your stereo receiver. If your stereo supports digital audio, use an optical digital audio cable as it can deliver higher-quality sound than standard audio cables.

Turn off the stereo receiver and your Hitachi UltraVision TV.

Plug one side of the digital audio cable into the Digital Audio OUT port on the rear of your Hitachi TV.

Insert the other end of the audio cable into the Digital Audio IN port on the stereo receiver's input panel. If your stereo does not support a digital connection, insert one end of the audio cables into the Audio OUT port on the rear of the TV and plug the other end into the Audio IN jack on the receiver.

Turn on your TV and the receiver. Your TV will immediately begin sending the audio signal to the stereo system.
