How to Become a GED Test Facility in Arizona
Adults who wish to earn a General Education Development certificate in lieu of a high school diploma must complete testing at an authorized testing center. As of this article's publication, the GED cannot be completed online. In Arizona, testing centers must have the official authorization of the Arizona Department of Education to administer the battery of five academic tests that compose the standardized GED. An individual must complete all five subjects at the same testing center and must meet or exceed minimum scores to receive an Arizona High School Equivalency Diploma.

1
Apply for state and national certification as an official Arizona GED testing center. Eligible facilities must be either a school district, a two-year or four-year college, or an
Educational Service Center. Contact the Arizona Department of Education GED administrator, who has the state authority to approve a testing facility, while the national GED Testing Service, a program overseen by the American Council on Education, authorizes each testing center throughout the U.S. The Arizona administrator must first grant approval and then recommend a facility for accreditation by ACE. -
2
Configure your testing facility. The exam room should be set up in such a way that all people taking the GED at one time are clearly visible to the proctor, or viewable via remote video. Each individual testing station should be equipped with computer equipment but reserve desk space for paper and pencil notes and calculations. Make sure the room is well lit and away from facility traffic, phones, printers, and other distractions. If possible, equip each station with sound-minimizing, three-side enclosure panels to ensure each tester's privacy. Provide lockers where testers can place personal items, such as cellphones or purses, prior to testing.

3
Establish your fee schedule and testing center regulations. In Arizona, each center sets its own test fees within a federally mandated range of $65 to $90 for the complete battery of tests required to earn an Arizona High School Equivalency Diploma. This amount includes a $20 administrative fee. Factors to consider when determining your facility's testing fees are the fees charged by other nearby facilities as well as your business expense overhead at your testing center.
