How to Install a Wiper Motor on a Freightliner FLD120

The Freightliner FLD120 is a commercial truck manufactured by the company of the same name. Vehicle safety is taken very seriously by owners of commercial truck drivers and haulers. One important safety feature on the Freightliner FLD120 is the windshield wipers. If the windshield wipers stop working, that's a sign that the wiper motor has gone bad. You should replace the wiper motor immediately if the wipers stop working.

Things You'll Need

• Adjustable wrench
• Socket set

Instructions

1. Open the engine compartment of the Freightliner. Remove the negative battery cable with an adjustable wrench.

2. Locate the Freightliner's wiper motor mounted on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the wheel well.

3. Unplug the electrical wiring harness from the Freightliner's wiper motor.

4. Remove the bolts holding the motor in place. Set the new motor in position and tighten down the retaining bolts with the wrench. Plug the new wiper motor into the wiring harness.

5. Reconnect the Freightliner's negative battery cable. Start the truck and test the new wiper motor.
