Crafting a Grecian Bracelet

Adorn the bracelet with tiny strands of pearl beads.

Create a beautiful Grecian bracelet to complete a Halloween costume. The bracelet is made to be worn around your upper arm, but can also be modified to wear around your wrist instead, if you prefer. It is simple to make and can be made from silver jewelry wire, or use an imitation silver or gold tone jewelry wire instead for a less expensive fashion accessory. Leave the wrapped wire cuff bracelet as it is, or get creative and adorn the wire with the crystal or pearl beads of your choice.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Cut two pieces of the medium-gauge jewelry wire. Make each piece about 12 inches long.

    • 2

Cut 13 pieces of thin-gauge jewelry wire. Make each of these pieces about 1 1/2 inches long.

    • 3

Slide a small pearl bead onto the center of each short piece of wire and then fill either side of the wires with small crystal beads. Leave about 1/4 to 3/8-inch empty at each end of each piece of wire.

    • 4

Lay one of the long pieces of wire on your work surface and lay the small pieces of wire along the wire, at a square angle (perpendicular). Space the small pieces of wire about 1 inch apart.

    • 5

Use the thin nose pliers to wrap one of the 1/4 or 3/8-inch ends of each short piece of wire around the long wire. Press firmly so the ends of the short wires lay flat against the long wire.

    • 6

Lay the other long piece of wire at the opposite ends of the short wires. Use the thin nose pliers to wrap the other 1/4 or 3/8-inch ends of the short wires around the long wire.

    • 7

Use the pliers to coil the entire bracelet and then slide the completed accessory on your arm. You can pull on the ends gently to make the bracelet fit more snugly on your arm.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make the plain Grecian bracelet, without the beads, follow the same steps but do not fill the small pieces of wire with beads.
