Paint the wooden letters the other color. Use two coats, just as you did with the canvas.

3
Attach the wooden letters to the canvas, using hot glue. Attach the letters in an arrangement you want, so long as they are in the correct order from left to right. For example, you might lay one on its side up at the top left corner, the next one right side out along the bottom edge, the third upside down at the top right corner of the second, and so on.

Fill in the rest of the canvas with random letters using the letter stencils and the same color paint your use on the wooden letters. Lay the stencil down on the canvas, and dab paint over it in a straight up and down motion with a stencil brush. Only use one coat of paint for the stenciled letters. Let them dry for two hours before hanging up the art.

Tips & Warnings
The size canvas you need depends on the length of the name you need to spell, how you plan to arrange those letters on the canvas and what size wall art you want to create. Test the letter layout on different sizes of canvas at the craft store to help you decide.
