How to Make a Two-Sided Pamphlet on OpenOffice.org

You can create a two-sided pamphlet or brochure in the OpenOffice.org word processor. The key is to create one document that contains text and graphics for the front and back sides of the pamphlet, and another page for the internal content of the pamphlet. OpenOffice.org is a freely available, open-source office productivity suite available for download from OpenOffice.org. Print out the pamphlet using a printer that prints two-sided documents or by feeding the page into the printer twice to print both the front and back of the page.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the OpenOffice.org word-processor program. A blank document opens.

    • 2

Click the “Format” option on the top navigation bar, and then click “Page.” The Page Style dialog box opens.

    • 3

      Click the “Page” tab.

    • 4

Click the “Landscape” radio button to change the orientation of the page to landscape.

    • 5

Click the “Table” drop-down box in the top navigation box and drag the cursor over two adjacent cells to create a two-celled table in the landscape page.

    • 6

Hover over the first cell to show the “Table” formatting bar, and then click the “Border” drop-down box. Click “None.” Repeat for the second cell. This action hides the border lines in the table while leaving two columns to hold your content.

    • 7

Type your content into both sides of the page to create the front and back sides of the pamphlet.

    • 8

Click “File” and then click “New” to create a new page. Add the content that will appear inside the folded pamphlet into the two-celled table in the new page.

    • 9

Print the first page on one side of the paper, and then print the second page on the back side of the paper by refeeding the paper into the printer if your printer does not have a two-sided page setting.
